EL CAFETAL INN

Our working coffee plantation is surrounded by beautiful mountain a nature preserve canyon and big river in the mornings one can hear the howlers monkeys which come to feed from a tree right outside of our backyard where we have provided for your enjoyment- a lookout point "mirador" making and ideal spot for bird watching. After a day trip or day of relaxation at the inn you can choose a casual walk to nearby waterfall with trails, and also we provide horses or you can retrieve to your room (all rooms offer great views and have their own luxurious bathrooms) Breakfast is served buffet style in our cozy stone patio with breath taking views and see our parrot Lola Flores. The coffee picking season starts late October until February, you are more than welcome to join the picking. (see our coffee page for more information)

From El Cafetal Inn, guests can choose tours to PoÃ¡s Volcano; to orchid and butterfly farms, to bird zoo; to the Cloud Forest in San RamÃ³n; to the souvenir town called SarchÃ, Zarcero, JacÃ³ Beach, Tortuga Island, and the Carara Reserve; to San JosÃ© for a city tour; and to Alajuela for a night mariachi tour or ride a train from Atenas to Puerto Caldera the old fashion way passing through small towns! THE RESTAURANT

Oh my gosh! Wow! This are the exclamations of people when they look at the spectacular view from "MIRADOR DEL CAFETAL". A restaurant, bar with specialty in Coffee, offers more than 19 kinds of cappuccinos, espressos and exotic fruit daiquiris, in addition to the excellent food typical from our aborigines or international, and the best coffee from our farm in Atenas LA NEGRITA, you can purchase it in beans or ground, we specialize in PRE-COLUMBIAN SOUVENIRS from all Costa Rica and pre-Colombian art. Located at only 10 minutes outside of Atenas on the way to Orotina and Jaco beach. The restaurant is open daily from 6am to 6 pm.

In addition to the 10 bedrooms at the inn we offer a small casita also in the plantation with kitchenette for families of maximum of 2 adults and two kids under 12. The price is $120 per night includes full buffet breakfast and taxes.

El Cafetal Inn is just 20 minutes from the international airport take the Road to San Ramon drive for 20 minutes and exit on the GRECIA intersection drive for about 3 miles FIRST LEFT will take you underneath the bridge STRAIGHT for 8 miles we are on the right side next to RESTAURANTE EL JARDIN we are have signs to direct the traffic.
