The 18 hole golf course - the last to be designed by the late Sir Henry Cotton, boasts all the fine features normally found on a course near the sea including gently rolling fairways, immaculate contoured greens and strategically placed bunkers and water hazards.

The Par 72 layout, measuring 6125 metres from the back tees, is spread over two undulating valleys and provides a natural habitat for a wide variety of flora and fauna. It's design keeps to Sir Henry Cotton's philosophy that a golf course should be testing for low handicap players but provide an enjoyable game for the average club player.

The opening nine holes are caressed by soft Atlantic breezes and offer fine views of the bay of Lagos while the back nine is set over rolling slopes further inland, include the remarkable Henry Cotton Challenge, possibly the longest Par 5 in Europe.

A friendly clubhouse provides a spacious elegantly appointed bar and restaurant overlooking the 10th tee & 18th green, a well equipped pro shop, and changing rooms. At the driving range there is an excellent golf academy with extensive coaching and practice facilities.

When you need a break from golf, walk to President's Beach just 1 Km away and while away a few hours walking one of the finest beaches in Europe. Tide permitting, you can walk safely to the new Marina at the mouth of the river Arade through Praia da Rocha. There are several beach cafes en route.

The fishing village of Alvor is 2 Km in the opposite direction and has a whole host of attractions. Near Alvor is Alto Country Club with full resort facilities including indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi and gymnasium (all inclusive).

Further afield are the picturesque villages of the Monchique mountain and typical Algarvean towns of Lagos, Lagoa and Silves.

The Modelo shopping mall is just minutes away from the Golf Course. If you are entertaing kids, McDonald's and Disco bars are only a $5 Taxi (readily available) ride.

World famous Penina and 12 other great Golf courses are within half an hour.
