Yet within a stones throw to award winning Marina town of Lagos & Praia da Luz beach resort and other popular beach resorts, with all their facilities, without having to pay soaring prices. Also the rich diversity of this amazing coastline.

Mostly town houses / villas/ bungalows. No large condominiums. Several of these are English run buisnesses ie: Pub, hairdresser, O Poço Rstaurant in the square. Although tucked away, with a rural feel and lovely countryside views from the apt, everything is within easy reach. There is a bus service to Lagos and along the West coast to beaches of Burgau etc.

LIVING ROOM - 2 settees,large wood wall shelving/cupboard unit. White Wicker FURNITURE. Table, Nest of tables and chair. Glass sliding doors lead to BALCONY, space for barbecue oven.

2 heatwafers/ economy electric heating in living room and main bedroom. There is a phone line, sockets in main bedroom and living room.

Main Bedroom - Beautiful uninterupted country views.

No condominium charge. Everyone paints/ maintains their own outside areas which are well kept. There is ample parking for several cars in the car park area in front or on the street.

Annual Council tax is aprox 90Euros a year. A VERY ECONOMICAL apartment to run as a home, or holiday home or rental. I have been renting out for 3 years now long term. Monthly utilities bills average 10 E a month each for Water and Electric plus usage. Cooker and hot water runs on Gas for which you can buy bottles from the neighbours at no 9 R/C.

Small holding to the front, opposite, where you can buy ORGANIC VEGETABLES, fruit, eggs, chicken, direct from the owners. Pretty outlook with fruit trees and goats.

15 min drive to the picturesque, character MARINA town of LAGOS where you will find a vast selection of restaurants, pubs, nightlife, cinema, shops, schools, etc. within quaint paved areas.

FARO AIRPORT is easilly accesible, aprox an hour drive along the freeway which you catch just before Lagos off the N125. (125 is the coastal road accessed at bottom of Almadena) You can also get a coach from Faro to Lagos and then a bus to Almadena.

About 8 min drive takes you to the nearest BEACHES of BURGAU and Praia da LUZ. Both pretty character resorts, popular with English & Irish and a strong ex pat commuity. Good familly beaches. Praia da Luz has expanded from village to town status recently and has all the top notch tourist facilities. You can find English & Irish run pubs and buisnesses side by side with the Portuguese. ie: English videos, car & bike hire, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, doctors, solicitors, creche and primary school, hairdressers, internet, church, cinema, tennis courts etc... You can find anything in Luz from Baby sitting facilities, Portuguese classes to Yoga, Tai chi, Meditation, Aerobics ...

I can also recommend the LUXURY SPA resorts in Luz, with easy and reasonably priced membership to all their health and beauty facilities. Flexible packages from a day to a year. "Estrela da Luz" () has INDOOR POOL, SAUNA, JACUZZI, MASSAGE treatments, FITNESS and BEAUTY centre, as well as cafe/bar and restaurant.

BURGAU also has a sports centre, GYM and TENNIS courts. Salema (after Burgau) is also a lovely small and quaint beach resort.

Other activities in this area feature; Scuba Diving, Waterparks, Sea World (Zoo Marine) and Zoo.

A short drive Westwards along the coast and you reach the rugged coastline of Sagres the most tip of Europe. The West Coast or Costa Vicentina has vast sandy beaches backed by cliff and NATIONAL PARKS.

"The west coast above Sagres has some spectacular beaches. At each one the rock formations and sand colour is different as are the currents and waves. Add some weather and wind to this mixture and there you have limitless options for surfing at any standard."

"At Praia da Amado, the long flat sandy beach provides excellent waves for beginners and dramatic 'white water' for more advanced surfers.
This beach is very popular with the surfing schools so you can go along and have a look at what is involved before you commit yourself."

The beaches South of Carrapateira (west coast) are a dream. Meia Praia a long large beach in Lagos is also well known WINDSURFING, PARAGLIDING territory.

The classic picture postcard coves, beaches and grottos of Praia (beach) da Ana and Camilo are in Lagos. Drive towards Ponta da Piedade and the lighthouse. You can get scenic small boat trips from here, once you make it down the many steps!

DOLPHIN viewing and fishing trips also leave from Lagos, Marina.

There are 2 major GOLF parks within 10-15 min drive either side of ALMADENA. PARQUE DE FLORESTA is one with SPA and POOL, facilities also.

Serra de MONCHIQUE is a lovely hill resort known for its Thermal Spa facilities, about 60 mins scenic drive inland. A pretty town nestles amidst pine tree hills, where the bottled monchique spring water comes from.

There´s a large lake with pretty walks at BARRAGEM DA BRAVURA about 35mins inland. Nice for a picnic day out, walk, swim, fishing, turtle spotting or cycling.

Nearby CAMPING sites are after the village of ESPICHE before Almadena & in LUZ.

The large Intermarche group of SUPERMARKETS/SUPERSTORES are a few minutes away down the N125 towards Budens or in the opposite direction towards Lagos.

Algarve Resident (English language paper) and 123 (AD´s translated into German, English, Portuguese) are informative weekly papers. Activities and classifieds, information. ie: lawyers, removals, any kind of legal assistance, good place to advertise rentals, jobs, sales etc.

Apt is leasehold 99 years with permission to buy freehold (own the land its on) at 4,500 Euros. There is NO condominium charge and NO rent to pay per month. All legal documents are in order and held by my solicitor Artur Regu in Luz.

WEATHER - "Throughout the year the Algarve offers some of the best climatic conditions in Europe, thanks to the proximity of the Gulf Stream and North Africa. The region offers over 3000 hours of sunlight per year, an average of 8 hours per day. Rain primarily falls between November and March, although it may continue into April.

The annual temperature range in the Algarve varies between 15/35ºC. During winter, the temperature never drops below 0º, and while your may experience a few hours of rain, the sun soon returns warming protected areas to 20 to 30ºC. The average temperature of the Atlantic Coastal waters is in the order of 21/22ºC. In Summer, high temperatures in the interior of Portugal may created areas of low pressure which in turn can result in refreshing sea breezes along the coast."
