Overlooking the Haute Tarentaise valley, the car free ski resort of Les Arcs 1800 is located in the centre of a vast ski area, the Paradiski, which links Les Arcs and La Plagne and offers 425 km of slopes to suit all ages and levels, in an incomparable natural setting.

Les Arcs comprises three modern resorts: Arc 1600, Arc 1800 and Arc 2000 each with its own distinctive flavour. Arc 1600, perfect for families, overlooks the town of Bourg Saint Maurice below. Arc 1800 is the centre of the action: this is where the lifts converge and has very lively aprÃ¨s ski. Arc 2000 is the newest addition and is surrounded by pine trees at the base of the Aiguille Rouge peak. All three have great snow records and skiing and boarding for every level. Its south facing disposition means sun and the views of the sun setting behind Mont Blanc are astounding. And, when the sun is gone there's is always plenty going on.

Les Arcs already covers a vast skiing area (121 runs, 76 lifts and a total of 200km of piste) and with the addition of "Paradiski" it is even more immense. The newly linked resorts of Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne will form one of the largest ski resorts in the world with a mammoth 420km of piste, 3 glaciers and 3 summits of over 3,000m. Back in Les Arcs itself, your Learn to Ski pack will teach you stopping and turning on short skis by the "Ski Evolutif" method which had its origins in Les Arcs. You'll be up on the Blues in no time. Kids will enjoy the new safe sledding track in Arc 1800. There's a wealth of slopes between Arc 1800 and Arc 2000 for the intermediate skier. Advanced skiers can try out the challenge of the 7km Black Aguille Rouge. Les Arcs lays claim to be the home of the snowboard and boarders will be delighted to hear there are 2 half pipes and an area exclusive for boarders.

There's a lot to chose from in each of the Arcs with Arc 1800 (where all Directski accommodation is located) offering the best and most varied apres-ski recreation. You'll find a huge selection of restaurants and bars pulsating with life. You can also go for a dog sleigh ride or on a snowshoe excursion or just unwind in the pool before you hit the strip.
