The most popular and established ski resort in Bulgaria, Borovitz is located at an elevation of 1350m with pistes up to 2600m, and is also a lovely place to visit and/or stay in summer.

Built on the slopes of Mount Musala (2925m), Borovetz is Bulgaria's oldest ski resort with envious access to one of the highest peaks in the Balkans. As a two-time host of the World Cup Alpine ski rounds, Borovetz offers 23 ski runs and 14 lifts at an amazing cost of about 15â‚¬ daily for complete ski equipment, and training lessons for 125â‚¬ per day. With about 1.5m of natural snow almost guaranteed between November and April, hiking on the Rila mountains, or horse riding in a beautifull preserved scenery, you will undoubtedly have plenty of things to see and do in Borovetz.

Borovets was developed as a modern, high-class ski resort with luxury hotels, restaurants, discos, shops and a good choice of pistes and lifts. An Alpine-style resort, you will find very good conditions for snowsports durng the winter: skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, ski jumps and biathlon, ski-doo, ice-skating in the resort, etc. Its biathlon track is one of the best in Europe. The air in Borovets is clear, free of any pollutants. The average temperature during the coldest month January is - 4.6 Â°C.

With something for everyone, there are ski runs for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers, designed with international markings and multilingual signs. Pistes are bashed and maintained to the high standard. Cross-country and biathlon tracks are located 2 km away from the resort together with the cross-country tuition tracks. Borovets ski centre is serviced by a well organised inclusive Gondola lift system. 8 snow cannons for artificial snow were installed to guarantee optimum snow cover. In addition, the Borovets ski school has been known as one of the best in Bulgaria, with more than 200 ski instructors fluent in foreign languages -- some of them former professional skiers.

Reknowned for its interesting night life, Borovets is full of bars, cafes, night clubs, discos (Buzz bar, Mamacitas, Bonkers disco, etc). With many years experience catering for foreign tourists, the staff throughtout has a reputation as friendly and professional. You'll find international dance music in the numerous venues, and frequent shows and concerts. For something a little more traditional, there are numerous restaurants and taverns specializing in Bulgarian national folk music and 'horo' dancing, which some people find very interesting. We would certainly recommend the world famous Rila Monastery or the busy city of Sofia for sightseeing or shopping.
