The property has 18 suites: 10 doubles, 2 singles, 1 quadruple and 3 superior . Included are : Bathroom, cable TV, telephone, air conditioning and guest fridge. All rooms are tastefully decorated in keeping with the MAASAI theme.

Waterwise the property is self sufficient and enjoys a Solar energy water heating system which accounts for 80% of requirements. Should the weather be uncooperative a boiler backup is activated.. Electricity is mains 110V and access to 220V.

A garden rest area and beach bar overlook the Itauna Beach to which the Hotel has private access. The recently completed restaurant and sun deck seating 56 overlooks the beach . A full service kitchen supports the restaurant and guest requirements.

The main building hosts Reception, a spacious lounge with cable TV, cocktail bar and stone fireplace, a guest services kitchen plus a Bar B Q area and games area plus Sauna. Located in the front garden is a shaded pool 8x4x1.2mts which has optional heating.

The attractive arrival entrance with its ‘’Lions Gate’’ has ample secure parking.

A variety of activities are offered to Guests. Beach Buggy rental, Horse Riding, Sea Fishing, Surfing Lessons, Bird watching and local vehicle or foot tours.

The Municipality of Saquarema is located in the coastal lake district 110 kms north of Rio Janeiro. From Rio one takes the Niteroi Bridge and the Rodavia Amaral Peixoto to Bacaxa and Saquarema. It is a well signed road and will take approx 90 minutes by car. Alternatively there is a regular Air Conditioned bus service. Saquarema is well served with all amenities: Banks, Hospitals, Schools, Shops, Supermarkets and a small airfield for private plains.

The first inhabitants of Saquarema were hunters and collectors (mollusks, fruits, seeds, etc). The pond and the sea, most likely, attracted those people, as we can see by the "sambaquis". About 1530 the Portuguese arrived in Saquarema and adjacent territories, in 1594, so did the first priests. In the end of the 17th century the coffee culture stood out in Saquarema.
In 1841 Saquarema had it's political-administrative emancipation and in 1890 it was recognized as a city. One of the given versions for the origin of it's name is from Tupi-Guarani "SOCOREMA", that means "POND WITHOUT SHELL".
